Well I have certainly bounced around a lot… After graduating RIT in ’98, I worked and consulted at more than thirteen firms in Boston and San Francisco, including Astro, Altitude, Eleven, IDEO, Manta, Octane, Proteus Design, Razorfish, and Ziba.
This was a great opportunity to see how consultancies work from the inside as well as get exposure and experience with a wide variety of projects, design processes, skills and discipline. However, the most beneficial part of working at all these firms was the friendships I made and business network they allowed me to build.
Most recently, after six amazing years at Astro, I launched my own consultancy, Sprout Studios. Sprout is a multi-disciplinary, lifestyle-driven design consultancy specializing in physical, visual and interactive design. Sprout designs products ranging from housewares to consumer electronics. In addition I have been an active member in the Industrial Designers Society of America. In 1998-2002 I served as Chapter Vice Chair and Chair for the Boston Chapter and in 2002 was selected to Jury the IDEA Business Week Design Awards.
