Design Strategist

Sprout Studios seeks a Design Strategist with a background in Industrial Design to join our Boston studio. Our capabilities in Design Research are well developed and follow both industry standards as well as customized approaches honed over years of practice with leading client insights teams. We’re looking for candidates who are ready to hit the ground running with Sprout through this position, and are capable of being a strong contributor to our core competencies.

This individual is responsible for supporting the design team with numerous research-related deliverables, including user personas, user journey maps, data collection, field audits, interviews, literature reviews, data analysis, market/competitive analysis, presentation preparation, and Industrial Design. As part of a multi-disciplinary design team, you’ll tackle design challenges alongside other creatives and design thinkers, and contribute to product design through human-centered exploration and analysis.

The ideal candidate will be a quick learner, enthusiastic, detail-oriented and collaborative—ready to roll up their sleeves and join a fast paced design consultancy working with a diverse range of clients and industries.


Specific skills and requirements:


  • Previous experience and a degree in a related field (Design Strategy, Industrial Design or UX/UI) are a plus
  • Experience and knowledge of a variety of research methods and the field of Industrial Design or UX/UI
  • Skilled in written and verbal communication, ability to prepare client presentations and communications
  • Self-managing, motivated, and entrepreneurial in nature
  • Understanding of digital and physical product solutions
  • Experience with qualitative and quantitative methods with a proven ability to scope research, lead fieldwork, conduct interviews, perform desk research, lead synthesis and communicate findings to stakeholders
  • Ability to collect, analyze, visualize, and prepare research findings for presentation to various audiences
  • Ability to work flexibly and efficiently, exercising a balance between research rigor and speed
  • Collaborative in their approach to a team environment, able to readily articulate opinions and ideas
