For NXT, Sprout designed a groundbreaking package with an integrated LED to attract attention in crowded retail environments. The award-winning design enabled NXT to save money on marketing costs while showcasing an innovative take on in-store merchandising.
NXT is a new men’s shave regimen containing face wash, shave cream, aftershave, and moisturizer. As the NXT brand did not have the advertising budget to support a national campaign, a pulsating LED was placed in the bottom of each vessel. This LED lights up the package like a lava lamp once every 15 seconds, inviting customers to pick them up at the store level, mitigating the need for conventional promotions.
The vessel itself was designed in an intriguing triangular package that contained a small PCB, AAA batteries, the LED, and a rocker switch. The rocker switch would turn the bottle on when rotated 180 degrees after being removed from its shipping carton. This product garnered numerous awards and has been featured on numerous websites, blogs, and periodicals for its innovation, design, and groundbreaking store-level advertising.
