Celebrating International Women’s Day 2024

Sprout is proud to recognize International Women’s Day, a global observance held annually on March 8th to celebrate the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women around the world. The day serves as an opportunity to reflect on the progress made toward gender equality and to recognize the work that still needs to be done.

Today also marks the first anniversary of our Women in Industrial Design book – an interview series sharing the experiences and perspectives of women navigating an industry in which they’ve long been underrepresented. On this day last year, Sprout hosted an event that gathered over 200 designers and industry professionals to celebrate the book’s launch with a portfolio review, panel discussion, and cocktail party.

We are thrilled to report that over the last year, the Sprout team has grown to include nine talented women. We are proud to recognize: Leah Holt, marketing designer; Daniela Garcia Garcia, industrial designer; Pamela Ramos, project manager; Callan McGill, visualization designer; Phoebe Lasater, visual designer; Kim Amaral, financial officer; Jo Ahola, visual designer; Kelsey McNally, marketing manager; and Natalia Baltazar, industrial designer, as integral members of the Sprout family. Their contributions have been instrumental in driving our success and shaping our culture. 

As we celebrate the progress we’ve made, we recognize that our work is far from over. The theme of this year’s International Women’s Day campaign, #InspireInclusion, serves as a reminder of the importance of continuing to challenge biases and create environments where everyone feels valued and empowered to thrive. From our Women in Industrial Design project to the growth of our team, we have seen firsthand the transformative power of inclusivity. As we look to the future, we are optimistic about what lies ahead and reaffirm our commitment to creating a world where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued. Together, let us continue to #InspireInclusion and build a more equitable and inclusive future for all.
