Every year in the U.S., about 40% of food goes to waste, and most from people not remembering what they have in their refrigerator and pantries. Sprout developed the SmartWare system with ALEXA, as a way to make food easy. Simply tell ALEXA what’s in your containers and scan the lid. You can then use the Smartware app to see your full inventory and you’ll be reminded of what you have and when you should get back to it before it goes bad. By adding the ability to work with the Alexa and other Food Tech companies, we will allow the consumer to easily reorder products from Amazon Fresh, get step-by-step instructions for their meals from Blue Apron, remotely check to see if they have any leftovers or if they should just pick up a pizza.
