Other World Computing (OWC) has been providing quality hardware products and support to the computer industry since 1988 and features one of the largest online catalogs of computer, iPod®, iPhone®, and iPad™ enhancement products through its e-commerce portal macsales.com. Seeking to refine their brand’s visual identity and enhance their market positioning, OWC turned to Sprout Studios.

OWC’s vision for their brand was clear – they wanted to maintain their existing logo while elevating their overall visual identity. To gain insight into OWC’s target audience, we evaluated the existing market landscape and strategically developed user personas. These personas illuminated how the brand could be enhanced to better resonate with identified user needs. This insight informed the creation of a clean, modern, and futuristic aesthetic and the development of clear brand mission, vision, and value statements. These elements formed the cornerstone of a new product strategy and refined market positioning for the company.

In collaboration with OWC, Sprout designed a comprehensive brand style guide, serving as a roadmap for the consistent implementation of the new brand identity across all platforms. From precise guidelines on logo usage, to recommendations for typography and color palette, our brand style guide equips OWC with the tools necessary to deploy a unified brand presence. Additionally, we designed presentation templates, collateral, and social media icons to further support OWC’s brand communication strategy.

The refined brand identity was seamlessly integrated into OWC’s website design, with a strategic focus on enhancing user experience. Using thorough user workflows and in-depth analysis, we identified and addressed pain points within the existing design, ensuring the new website met the evolving needs and expectations of OWC’s target audience.

To showcase OWC’s products in stunning detail, our in-house 3D visualization team developed a suite of photorealistic product renderings. These strategic digital assets focused on product benefits that users seek, and not only served as the foundation for a new product catalog but also were the cornerstone of compelling A+ Amazon Content, further solidifying OWC’s position as a leader in the industry.
