Speed Keg
Following the success of Halfday—a wine-based kegged cocktail served at Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour and now a staple at Gillette Stadium—the founders set out to bring real-spirits cocktails to the tap line.
U.S. law prohibits spirits-based beverages from being packaged in containers larger than 1.75 liters, making it impossible to prepackage kegs of cocktails containing liquor. At the same time, high-volume hospitality venues face the challenge of serving cocktails quickly and consistently without prep, waste, or error.
To solve this, Halfday’s founders partnered with Sprout to develop a modular spirit-injection funnel system for their new B2B brand, Speed Keg. The system integrates seamlessly with industry-standard kegs, allowing bartenders to quickly and safely infuse precise volumes of spirits into pre-mixed cocktail kegs on site.
Sprout led the product development, from early concept exploration and functional prototyping to material selection and scalable manufacturing strategy. Through iterative testing and refinement, the team perfected the injection mechanics, pressure control, and seal design to deliver precise, reliable performance with every pour. Engineered for consistency and seamless operation, Speed Keg reimagines how cocktails are served at scale.
