Ergobaby Omni Deluxe

When new parents are learning how to care for their baby, even the most thoughtfully designed products can present a learning curve. For the Ergobaby Omni baby carrier, customers struggled to understand how to properly assemble and wear the product. While the carrier was engineered for comfort and safety, the unboxing experience lacked clear instructional guidance, leading to confusion, safety concerns, and ultimately, product returns.
Sprout redesigned the unboxing experience as an intuitive, guided introduction to the product. A clear, user-first start guide is immediately visible upon opening, helping parents feel confident and know exactly where to begin.
The carrier was purposefully folded and packed to guide the unfolding process, making orientation and assembly more intuitive. To reinforce each step, we introduced a series of removable tags on the product that correspond directly with the guide, creating a cohesive, step-by-step experience that connects physical interaction with visual instruction.
The solution was carefully designed to maintain existing production costs while elevating packaging structure and shelf presence. We optimized packaging size to meet retail shelving constraints, maximizing units on shelf and improving pallet efficiency for distribution. All elements were developed within Ergobaby’s existing brand system to ensure consistency across the product line.
The result is an improved first-use experience that has reduced returns and generated positive reviews and organic buzz. By eliminating confusion and reinforcing proper use from the start, the unboxing solution supports happy parents and comfortable, secure babies.
