Head of Industrial Design

Sprout Studios is a multidisciplinary design firm working across design research & strategy, industrial design, CGI visualization, branding, strategy, and mechanical engineering for clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies to ambitious startups. We’re looking for a Principal Industrial Designer who doesn’t just create exceptional products, they win the room, build relationships, and grow a practice.

You’ll inherit a strong ID team and benefit from a strong partnership with our Branding and Creative lead.

In this role, you won’t just oversee the work. You will set the pace and define the vision, championing our design philosophy from the first pitch to the final product.

Our success is driven by senior leaders who own their disciplines and bring deep industry relationships to the table. As a key leader at Sprout, you will steward the growth of our industrial design practice and define the standard for our most high-profile creative programs.

  • Technical & Manufacturing Authority: Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and production constraints, with the ability to serve as the definitive technical liaison for engineering teams.
  • Strategic Program Architecture: Proven experience developing detailed workback plans, research strategies, and staffing models to ensure complex, multi-workstream programs are resourced for excellence.
  • Executive Collaboration: A track record of working cross-functionally with Engineering, Marketing, and Brand teams, balancing high-level creative ambition with technical and business realities.
